4) Remember That Your Students Are Individuals, And You Will Not Be Able To Teach All Of Them In The Same Way
As I said above, everyone learns differently. Some students take notes while others listen and learn from lectures/discussions. Some students need a quiet space to study and others prefer studying with music playing. Some students have trouble focusing in class while others have never known what it is like to be distracted by anything going on around them. You cannot teach all of your students in the same way, so just because one student likes something that you try does not mean that they all will.
5) Use Different Teaching Methods To Reach Your Students Where They Are At
Using different teaching methods for students of various intelligence levels, learning styles, and whatever else they may be going through at the moment is important. Not all students learn the same way, so it is important to keep that in mind when planning your lessons. You must remember that technology is a great tool to use in the classroom, but not all students are as savvy with it as you are. They may need more time or even help using certain programs.
6) Every Student Is Unique
Not every student will do what you tell them right away, nor should they be expected to. Remember that these are kids who are finding their way in life. They aren’t adults who know how to do everything they need to on their own, so they may need more time than others for some things or may even need help.
7) Cooperation Is Key And Should Be Taught From Day One
It is important to teach your students the importance of working together, even if they don’t like each other. Cooperation is quite possibly one of the most important skills that anyone can have. If you do not teach your students cooperation, then they may become bullies or someone who always looks out for themselves to the detriment of others, which is not how it should be.
8) Make Sure Your Students Can Actually Do The Work
I know that everyone knows this, but I have to say it anyway. Make sure that your students actually know the work before assigning it to them. It’s no fun when they can’t do it for one reason or another, and then they end up getting mad at you for something that you did not foresee happening. Even if you do not know the material, make sure that you take a few minutes each week to quiz them on what they have been learning.
9) Have Fun With Your Students!
Do something different for a day or two and bring in some fun things to do with your students. It’s good to mix up the routine every once in a while. They can even help you plan these activities so they have a great idea of what the school day is like for them.

10) Foster Personality Development In Your Students
This means that you should encourage individuality and allow your students to be themselves. You are not there to shape your students into something that you want them to be, but rather help them to become the best people that they can be. That means encouraging creativity, resiliency, responsibility, and every other positive characteristic that you can think of.
